Ordering by Web
- Locate the title(s) that interest you by using our Advanced Search page.
- Add the title to your Shopping Cart by selecting the Add to Cart button located on the title page.
- Enter the quantity of books you wish to purchase and select Add to Shopping Cart.
- To check your cart's contents or to complete your order, click on the Shopping Cart link on the top navigation bar and select Review and Complete Order.
The Shopping Cart makes use of cookies, so please make sure that cookies are enabled in your web browser.
Note: When using the Shopping Cart feature, the order is processed by Perseus Distribution and you will leave the University of Michigan Press website. Links are provided to return to the UMP site easily.

Ordering Using a Promotional Code
If you are ordering from a catalog, flyer, or other promotional mail piece that offers a discount or other offer, check the item for a promotional code (e.g. "UMTH06"). If there is a promotional code, enter this code at the time of checkout to receive the discount or other offer. Ordering Policies
All direct orders must be prepaid by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover) or check. For web orders, payment must be made by credit card.
Credit cards are charged when your order is shipped.
If paying by check, the funds must be in U.S. Dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank.
We cannot accept checks for forthcoming titles.
All prices are subject to change without notice.
Availability information posted on the website is updated periodically; actual inventory may vary.
Your contact information will be used only in connection with your order and/or services you request. For details, please see our Privacy Policy Statement.
Refunds: If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with any book, you may return it within ten days for a full refund or charge card credit. For complete return details, please view the Refund Policy.

Exam, Desk, and Review Copies
Exam Copies
Examination copy requests for non-ESL titles may be submitted in one of the following two ways:
- Via our online form; or
- In writing, using your college/university letterhead. Please mail or fax the request to us at:

Desk Copies
Desk copies are available to instructors for classroom use provided:
- The book requested has been adopted and 10 or more copies have been ordered from a bookstore;
- The number of desk copies requested does not exceed the number of instructors for the class; and
- The instructor has not previously received a copy.
If you met these requirements, you may request a desk copy by mailing or faxing us your request, which may be on any of the following:
- Your college/university letterhead;
- The AAP desk copy request form;
- Our online desk copy request form; or
- Our own desk copy request form. (This is a modified version of the standard AAP form with our information filled in.)

Review Copies
If you work for a journal, newspaper, radio or television show, etc. and have been asked to write a review of one of our books for your publication, you may request a review copy from our publicist.
