New Series

The University of Michigan Press is pleased to announce The Michigan Commentaries Series. View the announcement flier here.

This long-needed and accessible new series is jointly overseen by the Press and by the University of Michigan's Department of Classical Studies.

Volumes published in the series are intended for classroom use at the undergraduate level, and will be priced and designed accordingly. They will include the Greek or Latin text, notes, and commentary, together with other materials (maps, tables, etc.) as appropriate.

The first two volumes to appear will be:

• Cicero, Pro Roscio Amerino, edited by Barbara Saylor Rodgers (University of Vermont)
• Apuleius, Metamorphoses, Book IX, edited by Benjamin Lee (Oberlin College)

Volumes in The Michigan Commentaries Series will join previous commentaries published by the University of Michigan Press:

• Thucydides, Book 1, A Student's Grammatical Commentary, by H.D. Cameron
  H.D. Cameron's volume includes a user-friendly students' edition of Book 1, providing Greek text, extensive notes, a complete glossary, and an extensive introduction to Homer and his epic work. H.D. Cameron is Professor of Classics, University of Michigan.

• Iliad, Book I, with notes and vocabulary by P.A. Draper
  P.A. Draper presents Homer's text along with copious annotations on vocabulary, grammar, meter, historical and mythological allusions, and literary interpretation. P.A. Draper is Humanities Librarian, Cooper Library, Clemson University.
