Outside the classroom, students meet English in the real world. Outside the classroom, they step into the local lifestyle. In the museums and garage sales and churches of America, ESL students join their vibrant communities as learners, observers, English speakers, and new members in American culture. Through structured activities, A to Zany leads students in engaging, community-based tasks that will expand their language skills and nourish their understanding of life in the U.S.A.
Activities take about one hour, and most can be done individually, in pairs, or in small groups. Activities are fun, interesting, diverse, dynamic, and stimulating: Activity A focuses on art, while Activity B focuses on ball games; Activity G explores garage sales; Activity M features movies; and Activity V is about volunteers.
