PDF Files

Used with increasing frequency on the Web, PDF files enable web designers to preserve visual layout in a way not possible with HTML, and enable web users to quickly and easily download large documents that are designed for online viewing and printing.

PDF stands for Portable Document Format, and PDF is a proprietary format created by Adobe, Inc. In order to view a .pdf file, you must first obtain a copy of Acrobat Reader, an application which can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe's web site. Acrobat Reader works on both Macintosh and Windows systems. If you have any technical questions about installing Acrobat Reader, you can find answers at the Adobe web site.
